4 Hour Fire Rated Self Supporting Membrane Ceiling
When a high level of fire resistance is required without using a conventional suspended ceiling system, a self supporting membrane ceiling provides an effective solution for maintaining fire compartmentation while allowing space for mechanical and electrical services.
The 4 Hour Fire Rated Self Supporting Membrane Ceiling supplied by PROSAFE uses PROMATECT®-H calcium silicate boards installed with a steel framing arrangement and mineral wool insulation as part of the tested system assembly. The system consists of two layers of 12mm PROMATECT®-H boards fixed to the framing to achieve the required fire resistance performance.
Designed as a self supporting ceiling system without suspension from the structural soffit, the assembly has been tested and assessed in accordance with BS 476 Part 22:1987 for non loadbearing construction. The system provides up to 240 minutes of fire resistance from both sides when installed in accordance with the approved tested assembly.
Suitable for commercial, industrial, institutional, residential and high rise developments, this system provides a practical passive fire protection solution for projects requiring extended fire resistance performance and a self supporting ceiling construction.

Is this system tested?
Yes. This system has been tested to BS 476 Part 22:1987 for non-loadbearing construction and provides 240 minutes of fire resistance when installed in accordance with the tested assembly. It is supported by the relevant test documentation and is accepted for BOMBA submission where applicable.
