2 Hour Fire Rated Self Supporting Membrane Ceiling

Designed for projects where conventional suspended ceilings are not practical, a self supporting membrane ceiling provides reliable fire compartmentation while leaving the ceiling void unobstructed for mechanical and electrical services.

The 2 Hour Fire Rated Self Supporting Membrane Ceiling supplied by PROSAFE, based on the selected tested design, is constructed using either a single layer or two layers of 9mm PROMATECT®-H calcium silicate boards fixed to a steel framing arrangement with mineral wool insulation. Depending on the approved system configuration, the complete assembly provides an overall system thickness of up to 128mm.

Tested to BS 476 Part 22:1987 for non-loadbearing construction, the system provides 120 minutes of fire resistance when installed in accordance with the approved tested assembly. Configurations are available to provide fire protection from below only or from both above and below, achieving a Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of -/120/120.

Suitable for commercial, industrial, institutional and residential developments, this system offers a practical passive fire protection solution for both new construction and refurbishment projects.

The 2 Hour Fire Rated Self Supporting Membrane Ceiling is suitable for a variety of building types, including:

  • Commercial buildings

  • Industrial facilities

  • Institutional buildings

  • Residential developments

  • High rise buildings

  • Refurbishment and restoration projects
