PROMASEAL®-A Sealant

PROMASEAL®-A Sealant is a high-performance, water-based acrylic sealant used to secure various building penetrations and control joints.

Designed for ease of application and post-installation clean-up, it provides effective fire stopping, water resistance, and limited movement capability for non-dynamic joints.

Main Applications

PROMASEAL®-A Sealant is suitable for sealing penetration gaps around electrical cables, cable trays, metal pipes, steel ducts, and control joints within fire-rated walls, partitions, and floors.

It can also be used in conjunction with other fire stopping systems like wraps, collars, and pillows for enhanced performance.

Easy clean-up: Water-based formulation makes site and post-installation clean-up fast and simple

Fire resistant: Up to FRL -/180/180 for penetrations and up to -/240/240 for control joints

Paintable and durable: Once cured, it remains flexible, won’t crack, and can be overpainted

Environmentally friendly: Low VOC content and no harsh solvents

Multi-surface compatibility: Bonds to a wide range of construction materials without primer (if dust-free)

Versatile applications: Can be used with backer rods, wraps, mesh guards, and other Promat systems

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and dust-free before application
If necessary, prime with diluted sealant (50% water) to improve adhesion
Insert polyethylene backing rod or approved bond breaker into joint gap
Apply sealant using caulking gun or trowel at recommended width-to-depth ratio
Protect from moisture and freezing until fully cured (at 25°C, 2–3mm depth per 24h)
Once cured, sealant may be overpainted for aesthetic purposes
For acoustic use, verify system compatibility and STC ratings per project requirements
